Here's a list of my sisters' favorite tunes to hum along to while opening up a new bottle.
A Gift To Match Your Mom's Inner Middle Sister

Every mom is different - just like every woman, daughter, and SISTER is different! This year we want to celebrate Mother's Day by embracing our mommies' unique personalities. Is she more of a Forever Cool kinda gal, or is she a Goodie Two Shoes? Either way, we've got just the gift to remind her that those things that make her different are also what make her a fantastic woman and a great mom!

Rebel Red
What to get the woman with extreme tastes? Rebel Red may never change her staple red platform shoes, so clearly that's out of the question. Actually, Reb's got a pretty strong opinion on most things - so how do you get her a gift that's both unexpected and ingenious? Go for an experience! Experiences are a great way for your mom to let loose and have fun! Rebel Red recommend SaLsA LeSsOnS - they don't break the bank, and will teach your mom a fun skill she can enjoy forever.

Wicked White
Wicked White is probably the most "chill&q...

Introducing Our 2012 Help A Sister Out Campaign

Help A Sister Out: Giving Back to Causes Women Care About
This spring, Middle Sister is proud to partner with food banks across the country to help our sisters and their families. Middle Sister’s Help A Sister Out Campaign has pledged to donate a minimum of $15,000 to food bank charities nationally — and you can help.

Hunger shouldn't be a women’s issue, but more women and children go hungry than any other demographic group in the United States.

More than 1-in-3 single mothers struggle to feed their children.
More than 1-in-7 families report at least one family member who doesn’t get enough to eat on a regular basis.
17 million children live in households that experience regular food shortages.
More than 1 million children regularly go to bed hungry in the US.

Government reports show a startling increase in the number of families struggling to put food on the table. We think about dropping a few cans int...

Sweetie Pie's Perfect Picnic

Wow, the weather is doing backflips lately isn't it? One day it's 80 degrees, the next day there's snow falling. Sometimes I forget what season it is! Then I rememer that, in fact, it is SPRING and I get so bummed because all I want to do is go outside! I've found that the best coping mechanism for this crazy weather is to prepare for a day when the skies will finally clear and settle into soft breezes and sunny days. That way, once it comes, I can run out of the house, apron flying, and do all the things I've been wanting to do all month (Remember Forever Cool's herb garden? I can't wait to make that one happen!).
So, in my latest fit of weather-coping, I decided to plan the Perfect Picnic. Picnics are the most lovely way to spend a spring day or evening, surrounded by friends and loved ones and enjoying the weather together. Below you'll find all the things you need to hostess a carefree, easy day at the park or beach, including a packing checklist, p...

Spring Fashions You Can Really Pull Off!

Hello Darlings. I know you’ve been expecting me, what with the weather changing and all. Time to put away that horrid puffy coat and breathe some life into your style again! Excited? I know I am.
This spring, the fashion world is highlighting some of my favorite looks – and they’re so wearable you won’t feel ridiculous stealing a look right off the runway. From neons to pastels, from ultra modern to vintage inspired, this spring is all about classic elegance with a hint of whimsy! Here’s my list of must-haves to complete your Spring 2012 wardrobe.

Neons
Neons are huge this spring, and the easiest way to add a pop of color to your wardrobe is to accessorize! Go with a neutral dress and pump it up with some pink pumps, or a brightly colored bag. My obsession right now is this tangerine Kate Spade bag. Orange is the staple color of the season, so don’t miss out!

Pretty Pastels
Neon a little too much for you? ...

It's Women's History Month - Movie Marathon Anyone?

Smarty Pants here. March is Women's History Month, and being the film buff that I am, I thought I'd take this opportunity to list of the best movies out there that celebrate and explore the triumphs of some of the most impressive women in history. Enjoy these films and discuss with your friends over a glass of me!

Elizabeth (1999)
When Catholic Queen Mary dies, the British Crown goes to Elizabeth, the Protestant half-sister Mary had improsoned during her reign. Once crowned, Queen Elizabeth I (Cate Blanchett) is inundated by her council's endless attempts to marry her off, restore a Catholic thrown, and criticize her romance with Lord Robert Dudley. Talk about overcoming adversity.

Iron Jawed Angels (2004)
Alice Paul (Hilary Swank) and the women of the 1918 Womens Suffrage movement fight for their right to vote and run for office in this evocative film. Sacrificing their health, marriages and already-limited freedom, these women engage in picketing, hunger-stri...

DIY: Window Box Herb Garden

My favorite time of year is spring. I love opening all the windows and letting the breeze flow through the house. I love the smell of fresh-cut grass and morning dew, and even the sounds of bees buzzing bring a silly grin to my face.
I spend most weekends in springtime in my garden, planting veggies and herbs for fresh food all summer. There’s really nothing better than cooking with fresh ingredients, and I develop a seasonal sense of pride for cooking AND growing my own food. Plus, it’s cheaper and tastes better than grocery store produce!
Since I’m a DIY kind of girl, I figured why not share my green-thumby secrets with my sisters? I know you don’t all have elaborate gardens at home, and some of you live in apartments with no backyard at all, so I put together this tutorial for creating your own Window Box Herb Garden. Window boxes are great because they require minimal space, create a beautiful view outside your window, and allow you to keep the freshest in...

Blueberry Pie for Pi Day

Sweetie Pie here. I know you all come to me for your tastiest recipes, and this time is no different. But why have I chosen today to share my favorite pie recipe with you? Well, darlings, I’ll tell you.
Some of you with particularly honed math skills (or kids who are taking geometry right now) might be familiar with a most fascinating mathematical constant: Pi. People use pi to calculate lots of things, most commonly the area of a circle. To put it simply, pi is a number with decimal points that go on forever and never repeat. Ever. Seriously, the record for the most accurate calculation of pi stands at 5 trillion decimal digits with no end in sight. Most people refer to pi in a more usable form, at a simple 3.14.
So every year on March 14th (aka 3/14, or 3.14) I like to celebrate Pi Day with something round and appropriately pun-friendly: pie! So get out your rolling pin and join me in some delicious geeky baking!
